TROUT DERBY

Thank you for a successful 2025 Trout Derby!!

The Chambersburg Lions Club is excited to announce a significant transition in the management of the beloved Trout Derby, a tradition that has brought together fishing enthusiasts for 28 years. After successfully collaborating for this year's event, the Lions Club is turning over the stewardship of the Trout Derby to the Chambersburg Rotary, effective next year.

This year, the Trout Derby saw an impressive turnout with 496 anglers vying for their chance to win from $25,000 worth of prizes. The event was not only a showcase for fishing talent but also a rallying point for community spirit and camaraderie among participants.

“We are proud of the success of this year’s derby, where 60% of the tagged trout were caught, demonstrating the enthusiasm of our local anglers,” said Jordan Nace, president of the Chambersburg Rotary. “From 386 trout tags being turned in, it was exciting to see 172 participants win prizes of $25 or more. This event exemplifies our commitment to community engagement and support.”

Next year’s Trout Derby is scheduled for the first weekend in May, promising even more fun and competition for anglers of all ages. Proceeds from the derby will continue to support important local initiatives, benefiting the Chambersburg Rotary Club who are dedicated to serving and giving back to the local the community.

“We look forward to continuing this wonderful tradition and are excited to take on the responsibility of organizing the Trout Derby,” said Jackie Fisher, president elect of the Chambersburg Rotary. “We are committed to making next year's event even larger and more enjoyable for everyone involved.”

The Trout Derby has long been a highlight of Chambersburg’s community events calendar, and both clubs encourage the public to participate and support local initiatives. For further details and updates leading up to next year’s event, please stay connected with the Chambersburg Rotary.
