Next Big Project

The Next Big Project (NBP) Committee is recommending the creation of the Rotary San Jose Health Center at the HomeFirst Boccardo Reception Center, the region’s largest shelter. The Rotary Club of San Jose’s $500,000 lead gift will be combined with $2.25 million from Santa Clara County for this project. This Valley Homeless HealthCare Clinic, run by Santa Clara County, serves homeless people, and with this expansion will be able to offer additional wraparound social and psychiatric services.

Our Rotacare clinic, offering free weekly medical services, has been looking to move, and will relocate from Washington Elementary to this facility. Rotacare will be able to offer an additional evening of service.

The Foundation has been setting aside funds annually to prefund the Next Big Project. No additional fundraising is required.
The Club and Foundation boards approved this project unanimously.
