March is ID Awareness Month, and members of the satellite club are collecting care packages for clients of OSI.

As part of  ID (Intellectual Disability) Awareness Month in March, the satellite club have invited Linda Mayo, executive director of Occupational Services Inc. to speak at the March 20th meeting.  OSI helps folks with disabilities become part of the workforce. The club will be supporting OSI by collecting items for OSI client Care Packages, as their February service project.

Members have also been asked to serve the Circles group again. For some of our newer members, the Circles group is a local group of volunteers who partner with families of the community who are in poverty. The volunteers gain a better understanding of poverty in our community and become ‘allies’ for the families working to achieve stability. We have typically done a dinner every 6 months or so for this group. This has been proposed as the service project in April.

Stay tuned for more information, including the May service project.
