The Rotary Club of Chambersburg has recognized Naushair Hussain and Nathaniel Meyer as “Students of the Month” for February 2016.

Naushair Hussain is a senior being recognized as a high-achieving student across every subject area, challenging himself with college prep, honors, and advanced placement courses, resulting in an outstanding 4.66 GPA. Along with his academic success, Naushair is heavily involved with the Varsity Tennis team, and serves as historian for the Future Business Leaders of America Club. He is also a member of the academic competition team, National Honor Society, and Mu Alpha Theta, the math honor society. When he is not busy with his numerous school activities and studying, Naushair volunteers at the YMCA and helps elementary students stay physically active. For the future, he plans to attend college, majoring either science or math which are also his current favorite subjects. Following his bachelor’s degree, he wants to go to medical school and become an orthopedic surgeon.

Nathaniel Meyer, also a senior, is being recognized as a high-achieving student across all disciplines of study, resulting in an unparalleled 4.85 GPA in college prep, honors, and advanced placement courses. In conjunction with his academic accolades, Nate participates in three sports; football, for which he won the Mid-Penn scholarship athlete award, tennis, and rugby. He also volunteers his time as a Link Leader and a member of the Chemistry Club. Outside of his school related activities, Nate works at Creatures Great and Small Vet Clinic and Pat Smith’s Snow Removal. To give back to the community, he organized a large event and spoke for Compassion International. He also continues to serve at community dinners, and has an upcoming medical mission trip to Honduras. You can find Nathaniel operating a radio station or exploring the outdoors in the remainder of his spare time. A pre-medicine major at Penn State is his immediate plan for the future, followed by medical school, with the end goal of becoming a surgeon for the military.
