Duck Derby fund-raiser set for October 1
The Rotary Club of Chambersburg will be holding a “Duck Derby” on October 1st as part of the OctoberFest activities in downtown Chambersburg, partnering with the Chamber of Commerce.
The Chambers has run this event in the past, so we will be able to take advantage of their expertise. This fund raiser should be a great event for our club and supports our scholarship program. But a successful project does not happen by itself - we need everyone’s help!
Here is how you can help - get sponsors, sell tickets, promote the event, and volunteer on derby day. Tickets sell at $5 each or in a “Quack Pack” at six tickets for $25. Each ticket sold gets the ticketholder/purchaser one duck in the race.
Diloreto, Cosentino & Bollinger have stepped forward as the Super Duck sponsor, and we also have two of the five available Golden Egg sponsors committed - Edward Jones and Lehman Construction. (Sponsorship forms are available here).
Each Rotarian will receive 20 tickets to sell - please let Jack Dortch know if you need additional tickets. After you sell the tickets, make certain that you return the stub for each ticket with a name and phone number when you turn in your money. There will be cash prizes awarded to the winning duck - stay tuned for more information.
For questions please call Jack Dortch (496-8584), and please return your sold ticket stubs and money to Jack, Denis, or Sue.
